" Here are 9 Animes or Mangas With Reveals So Big You'd Be Mistaken To Have Skip Them"
So we are topping off this list with [9] Animes or Mangas that are not only so criminally underrated but also so poorly marketed that they didn't register on the radar of Anime fans or Manga readers. These are mostly fans of animes with a twist you'd never see coming until you look deeply into the manga or anime and rewatch the show multiple times.
Without further ado let's get into the "9 Animes or Mangas With Reveals So Big You'd Be Mistaken To Have Skip Them":
9 Animes or Mangas With Reveals So Big You'd Be Mistaken To Have Dropped It
1. Heavenly Delusion
Spoilers ahead for this one from day 1 of the show or couple chapters into the Manga. The anime protagonist of Heavenly Delusion is actually the brother and not the sister (strangely enough with the hormones of a girl).
So get this that big reveal is only revealed later on in the Anime or Manga and is only hinted in in the beginning with bread crumbs here and there hinting at it. It is also hinted that most of the kids inside "Heaven" are the "Fallen Angels" or monsters we see in the show. As the show takes place years after a strange apocalyptical event happens caused by presumably a Comet or something (or the kids had stopped it or something I don't know... Those are all theories and we are waiting on the twist as they said it was the monsters that appeared that caused it, but what if the monsters helped instead and now they are kind of rouge?)
That aside Heavenly Delusion is a very great anime if you would love to get into something and chew on lore whilst you wait for another season to drop.
2. Roku No Yuusha
Is a manga or anime about a bunch of heroes that are sent off to slay the demon lord and stop it from growing in influence otherwise it would end the world. The great thing about the anime is that they actually get stuck on their way there and the manga or anime turns into a detectiveesque X action anime or Manga. The whole anime keeps you on your fit and is a great watch if you are not spoiled on who the real villain of the story or arc is.
3. 7SCISSORS
7 Scissors is more of an anime about an assassin who is the lowest ranked assassin who basically is... (Spoiler alert) One of the strongest Assassins in his verse (giving even the main antagonist of the first few seasons) PTSD.
4. Juuni Taisen
Massive spoiler alert and spoilers ahead! Be warned! Much as there are a lot of spoilers for the where ever you go online the journey towards the end of it can still be enjoyed via the back stories of each character and the world building the show offers. Spoilers really don't really do much for me though as it makes me want to watch a show even more as I would like to see how they animate or adapt a concept because it takes a thousand words to describe 1 picture.
That been said about spoilers, this anime is a great pick and has sadly gone under the radar due some bad reviews when the show was airing and how it irritated some fans when the classic "backstory means character is about to die" shenanigans happened. Or from the fact that most of the orders in which the characters are going to die is been left all over the place.
So what is the "Juuni Taisen"? The Juuni Taisen is a competition or a royal rumble where only 1 winner can be and that winner (depending on the conditions of the battle royale) can wish anything they wish for to happen and it will granted to them. In this competition 12 competitors from the 12 great houses (House Boar, House Bird, House Dog, House Sheep even etc... you get it) get to compete and define the next era with their rule. This is why it is a very prestigeous competition with all heads of the houses choosing one of their best or worst members to partake in the competition. This time around the best candidates seems to come from House Ox, House Monkey, House Boar, House Rabbit, House Sheep and House Dragon & House Snake. Will your House and your Chinese Zodiac make it this time around? This show is great because it so shows you what your Chinese Zodiac is and what would have happened to the one representating your year had they taken in an event determining the next few decades or so including the countries and their collective political powers. So, happy bidding and "Everybody! Clap your hands!"
5. To Be Hero 3D
Now this one isn't underrated anymore as the ones before it paved a way for it but it is just worth mentioning to all who would like to give it a try because the 3D animations is just phenomenal!
6. Re:Creators
I know we have a lot of isekai'd but what about reverse isekai'd from characters not inside books but the medium of Manga, Anime, Games and Movies itself? What if we had our most important characters come to life? How would the Universe handle their physics?
This show went completely under the radar despite having one of Anime's strongest characters to ever have been written on fiction to have come to life itself and threaten to unwrite the writers itself. You really can't top that up because the writers are usually the biggest bosses even Popeye only fought them but couldn't really "beat them" Re:Creators on the other hand really took it to another level and level the world up and even stood heads and shoulders above the the world she invaded and Re:Created in her image!
So what happened to Re:Creators? Why did it go under the radar? Well, from sources and experts in the field it just seems it was vying for attention with a lot of other Animes people have been looking forward to so one gave it any attention but once they do they realized that they might have missed a gem.
7. Land Of The Lustrous
Okay so I will never stop shouting out this depressing anime (which I hope gets out of its Haitus or "ending" and maybe she'd some happy light for our Phos) but Land Of The Lustrous is a criminally underrated anime about "Gajinkafied" (GAJINKA_link) Gems who fight and protect their home turf from "invading" armies from the moon? As to why or what they fighting for and for whom and when is all up there in the air for anyone that want to shed light on it as it is lore deep and hints of the things that had transpired are only left in the backgrounds or dialogues and it is in whoever's best interest and time to find out the lore.
The protagonist turned antagonist turned protangonist is called Phos, which is a human like gem so weak for battle they trusted Phos with documentation instead. As the story progresses Phos starts to lose her comrades one after another including herself and her memories (but we the readers are aware of it and know what happened except Phos and her friends). Along the way things get out of hand and downright disturbing and depressing so best leave a whole blog post and a list of whole blog posts just about this one show but for now... onward to the next point!!!
"So this is why you love this show about gems, it is not for the knowledge but for Pho's BACKSTORY"
So why did it go under the radar? Because people haven't seen Pho's BACKSTORY yet-... I mean because people didn't like the concept of 3D animations used for Anime or and the name and trailer didn't hit home well with the audience so far. There wasn't also enough marketing done for it but ironically it became a cult classic because of the same 3D and silent marketing it did. It paved way for future generations of colourshaded 3D anime styles just like it. Animes like Kimeno Mimi though grabbed people's hearts with it's cheap 3D. It was a success and called upon another season which was at least better funded.
8. Made In Abyss
An anime about a girl that travels into this forbidden abys only to find out this shocking truth... Watch the anime and you'll find out.
9. March Comes In Like A Lion
"March comes in like a Lion" is an anime and manga about a shogi playing kid with glasses called Rey who struggles through life (physically, financially and mentally) as a teenager thrown into the adults world and adulthood at a tender age of 17. We watch him grow and learn and so far this manga is great read and the anime is a great watch for big reveals and an amazing ride.
Also, this one is highly and criminally underrated, so underrated I added a picture of a random anime character with glasses and you didn't notice it (that was actually Shinpachi fram Gintama), this one below is the real character:
They say the features makes the characters, well our poor boy here Rey is defined by their glasses just like Shinpachi from Gintama.
10. Gintama
This one is an extra one, I added it to the list as a bonus. A mix of comedy and serious parts this anime and manga is a work of art. The big reveals come every now and then but the biggest of all at the ending. Go give it a watch you will enjoy every minute of it.
