Greed... Is not bad - My Controversial Take on this topic but read on as I share this idea with you. See? I am not greedy at all but greedy for your success (which is a type of greed in and of itself?)
Introduction:
Okay here me out, [controversially] greed is not bad and can make you succeed. Wait, WAIT don't scroll away yet let me make it clear so it doesn't come out as a misunderstanding. To help you better understand which sort of "Greed" I am talking about we will look at the good aspects of it that you can apply to yourself or family or society and in your life to succeed. That is not all we will be looking at the bad sides of it too to make sure we aren't causing a misunderstanding.
Types Of "Good" Greed:
Let's have a look at these types of "Greed" that can help you achieve a better life.
Natural Resources Greed: Corporations or cities or a group of people that holdout the goods for the future or the right time to use (like oil wells in certain places that finance a towns revival or a cities transitions into another sector) is good as it promotes economical stability and reduced joblessness. On the other hand used wrongly Natural Resources Greed can destroy the planet if people put their greed and interests above other people's lives.
Cooperation through greed is a good hold or tight grip on ones future. Your ancestors cooperated through greed of the tribe to create civilization as it is today (they arrived first and greedily held onto every string they had so you have today what is yours). Had they not thought of "our tomorrow and my tomorrow" you wouldn't be here today. They had to have cooperative societial greed for the success of their tribe or city for this to happen. Used well this sort of greed can have your city be known for something great because there is something they all got greedy on to succeed and share with the world as with great greed and a will to be the biggest and have the biggest they'd shine the brightest alongside everyone else through "cooperative good greed". Like what is your city known for? See, they crush other places in collective competition for this. Done well this is a powerhouse, done toxically this breeds problems and societal rot so be-careful (a dystopia isn't even far from this so yeah).
The idea of greed of mating partners has led our ancestors to successfully pass on their genes and so should you as we are meant to populate this realm... [So it is stated somewhere that is] but that aside it is through greed of having to a least have a W in a mating partners that your ancestor has produced you and survived till now. This sort of genetic greedy and the will to be greedy for life and pass on their offsprings or cater to them has led to the survival a d thrival of humanity in general. Had this need to be greedy for "mate and go be safe for survival" strategy not been employed we all wouldn't have been here today (well most of us that is).
Money Saving Greed: Always remember it is Godly to share but use your mind properly sometimes because "If no one will give you money then who will?" Unless it is a giving Society normally people don't give you even if you were to beg (most people want you to earn it if they see you are an able bodied person - at a glance that is without knowing your problematic backstory). Don't believe this? Just go and try to post a gig online as an anonymous stranger in a group and see if anyone will care (depends on your luck and style though as people are inheritlly good it is just that if you are able bodied and posted something for sale or a service online it would be hard to make a sale).
Greed in terms investing builds more for businesses because good monopoly of the market (via cornering it and getting a stable foundation like a powerful brand like soft drinks) is good for crucial businesses (forgive the "soft drinks" bit I don't know a brand that can sponsor me yet so I leave this at that lol). Holding onto more investments too makes one more valuable this is possible through greed as it allows you to save instead of use and builds wealth. It isn't bad for saving though.
That is not all, investing in one's self instead of thinking of others or spending reckless money on other people that you deam a "love investment" can push you further in life and can even earn you more money to finally be able to comfortably do "love investments" or gift shopping for people that interest you. Otherwise be greedy.
In that regard there are downsides to been Investment greedy in business or self-improvement. One of them is dystopias or arnachy (for businesses) and sociopath for thinking about one's self too much and not others. It also leads to societial rot. So be-careful there with greed in investment.
Greed in improvements like exercise exceedingly increases your results. That is to say because you want to the be the best, because you are hungry because you want to devour you do your best and be your best when you train or improve yourself and your life. This simple element of greed feeds into your ego of looking and feeling good you push yourself to better perfect and inturn cause you to live and lead a healthy lifestyle and elongated life. They say health is wealth and who would have thought a part of "greed" had a play in it. That is not to say real negative greed is good though, infact it is not, it is just a portion of it is (maybe something I have not yet found a common name for).
Savings increase dramatically when you are Economically Greedy (though it'd have an adverse economical disadvantage if everyone did it). Been greedy in savings can hieghten the purchasing power of others but also allow you to save for future events and attain your financial goals early and easily as when you would have spent it all on external factors that won't come back to you or earn you a favour or something.
When you are "Greedy" to a Huge Scale (Greed by scale) you build big and provide more, this gives birth to a secondary effect of this sort of greed called "Abundance through greed" which is not bad if used correctly. Used incorrectly however you may endup been a killer of your surroundings and even deplete the resources around you because you don't take the effects of your size into account on the ecosystem. Done well however you look to providing for a big future society that can safely love and live in peace with the chances of branching out if they have the habit of outreaching and sharing alongside this sort of "greed". Think of businesses or any professional (in any system) for example, they provide a service to society at a scale and via their abundance they create a crucial service that society operates on (water and electric and internet providers for example, even the most crucial part of society like food and farming relies on these technologies).
Abundance (greed through abundance) in the right direction caused by Greed allows you to provision for the future because there are unexpected cases with happenings that come out of nowhere that could turn lives upsidedown and insideout. Had you been "greedy" (maybe let's say, greedy in the right direction not the scummy type) you'd have had a quick fix for the problem lying around. Kind of like the people that have an abundance of something can quick fix a solution because they have extra tools like glue guns, metals and 180k machines lying around as compared to with someone with nothing. Or like someone who charged 3x times for something they are selling and when the eggs crashed at least they could replace it and when the markets prices fell sharply they weren't wiped out, this also allowed to to love comfortably off of their earning because "they were greedy" (or good greedy). This proves that greedy is not bad... Greed just might not be bad at all.
Greed saves you a lot of trouble in the long run if you plan to turn a home into a town or city and leave your children in charge so horde a lot BUT teach your future generations to use it [greed] carefully and be greedy ONLY DURING THE RIGHT MOMENTS because it can either create a town from your lineage or a ghost town run down to the ground with debt if they become too greedy and uncooperative or too linnient the place becomes overrun with the wrong people running the place you placed under your grandchildren or future generations care. This is greed for the kin.
You want to be first, you want priority (Priority Based Greed). Such a simple concept yet one that can determine fate like coming 1st in a set of quadripplets or starting off nicely and winning a race by a millisecond or even opening extremely well within a chess match. Priority and the Greed to always call dibs and come first will always make you win (used well that is in tandem with proper training and timing). It is like drinking first from a cup you'll share first with 100 other people and there is nothing to wash it with (but the drink of course).
Greed assures your productive and it will assure that your productivity is off the charts! That is to say, when you have an abundance of things you can use as spare you can say... work at things in the middle of the night in all it's glory without a worry on energy bills, your energy because you have unlimited tools and time now because you were greedy and smart enough to not give the wrong ones away... Time is a valuable gift.
Abundance part 2, in terms of comfort. In the long run if you are abundant from "Good Greed" (still don't have a name for the concept) you can live comfortably yet at the same time succeed in looking good seen as sort of "successful" in the eyes of Society. Without naming names or positions I will have to leave it as it is because we know these positions and with people is been refered to.
Greed through knowledge: Having an insatible taste for knowledge and the application of said knowledge done rightly can be the difference between building a Greece or pushing someone off to get ahead of the queue and stepping on Grease and falling face flat (spoiler alert it is not nice).
Good Greed for others too (counter intuitive though) or Good Greed towards others betterment too will do you good. Want to have others have the best you can offer will inevitably overfill your positive karma cup for some reason. It is like or basically wanting the best for others. If someone wants a phone, you give the best money can buy and they'd obviously pay you back in kind in the future or some time.
With Good Greed you can go out and about setting healthy boundaries (used very prudently and well) or boundaries that sound counter intuitive till it is not (see the whole "not allowed to get sick at work and allowed breaks dilemma" that was over turned after a pandemic happened scenario). Good Greed worked for people and set boundaries for those that respected their time. It also enriched them as they sought for higher paying work as they valued their time better and set to Greedly take time off to use it to better themselves. So, Boundary Set Greed.
Greed or the Good parts of Greed can save you a lot of trouble by helping you move more freely (Freedom though Greed). Like in processes and procedures because you demanded more of the system and demanded that most of your needs be fully met. This way you can set the rules and can easily troubleshoot problems because you are no longer taking stabs in the dark behind red tape or rules and regulations that cloud and block your judgement. In a competitive Society or Workplace and Politics, though advised to be used sparingly (because things can go south or sour if you misuse it) Good Greed in terms of rules and regulational superiority is an asset if it can unlock door. Simply put it is "a position of power" or should we call it Greed for positions of power.
Greedy Good Mindset: Having a greedy for success kind of mindset alone can change things immensely to a point where studies upon studies of this subject of mindset have been conducted and even books like "Realize the Impact of Changed Thinking" have been written about it.
Simple changing your mind changes your goals and your outcomes.
Selective Greed (like been a picky eater): Powers that be are so greedy with handing out power to the right person because God forbid the Deathnote lands on the hands of the wrong person. To help you empathise with say, the gods that choose a champion I think that this is the best entomology. The power of Greed.
The last most powerful one is "been greedy for success", been success hungery and learning and applying whatever it takes to succeed without any "moral rails" or "moral walls" along the way like "should I really do this or not" kind of thought process leads people to succeed and innovations to happen because they circumvent a "negative block" that looks like a lawfully correct wall or line they should never cross. On the other side of the fence though, some moral walls were put there for a reason.
TL:DR; "Good Greed" good and "Bad Greed" bad.
Conclusion:
Conclusion: We can conclude that Greed is good if used correctly and greed is hurting everyone if used wrongly. Use it correctly and you can uplift Society but use it wrongly and you can doom everyone.
