"4 Of The Most Evil Characters In Anime or Manga Or Gaming But Did They Really Do Anything Wrong"?
Exhibit 1: Le Garde Of The Midnight Suns
"Captain Le Garde Of The Midnight Suns"
Ah! Le Garde or how some like to call him, Griffith Captain Of The Midnight Suns, was a high ranking mercenary captain that grew in popularity and strength despite all the opposing forces going against him in the cruel world of Fear And Hunger.
Born into a humble town/village in the nation of Rondon. Malnourished but hungry for success and hoping to end the suffering brought upon by the wicked and cruel world he was born in he sought an end to humanities sufferings. To achieve this goal as a mere human at best the best he thought he could do was reach up top to help what was close to him. He joined and created a mercenary group and through close to death encounters he encountered "her" in visions, and heard of stories of a saviour that would come to bring hope to humanity. As he kept on pushing forward, the deeper he pushed the more he realized whoever this person was sounded a lot like him. It was until he found out through lore that he was indeed "the choosen one to usher humanity into a new beginning" did he take his role seriously in addition to his vision for a better tomorrow, all he would do from that point on was for a better tomorrow. He had risen to popularity and fame through sheer wittedness and "luck" he at times questioned if he was destined for more as a simple miscalculation on anyone's part or even destiny would have ended him.
So why would Le Garde be listed amongst the "4 Of The Most Evil Characters In Anime or Manga Or Gaming", well that is because as of this writing he could be considered a Griffith clone (but slightly better in a sense). Griffith already up there on the list alongside a lot of other heinous characters and the fact that Le Garde is inspired from Griffith has him up on this list as for what he will be doing next will determine his stature.
Obvious war criminal level things Le Garde has done earning him the "evil" title has been:
* Slaughtering a whole village for The Cube Of The Depths that he would have needed to possibly attain the goal of freeing humanity of suffering and ascending to godhood. (In his eyes the ending will justify the means to it which is kind of sad).
* Causing impart (though not of his own) the whole shabang over at Termina. Or taking part in it.
* Raising up to the heights if society, becoming Furher and casing a World War. But to push humanity further.
"The best way to describe Le Gardes actions is that Le Garde thinks at the end it will all pay off and it does indeed."
Exhibit 2: Griffith, Leader Of The Falcons
"Everytime an Anime/Manga fan sees a long haired white haired wavy anime character with armour they have the urge to cry out like Guts: GRRRIIIFFIIITTTHHHHHHH!!!!"
Before I bring out the Guts in you. Let's look at Griffith:
* Mistakenly sacrificed his squad
* Betrayed his bestie
* War crime level actions that would net him greater demon level status in the Warhammer World (maybe demon level as he only sacrifices a part of the world or the world not multiple planets to the Warp or other World)
I have this theory that he(Griffith) might be that "evil" but is kind of evil with a smidge of redeemability. Thing is (SPOILER WARNING) It is not like he chooses the path he was set upon he has just decided to flow with the acts of causality albiet sometimes working against it and the Abyss, he was broken, he cried and he gave up. Without spilling too much as it is hinted here and there we'll wait and see how it all plays out.
